Aromatherapy to quit smoking

Unless you’ve smoked for any length of time you don’t know  how hard it is to quit. On the other hand millions of people have quit. Unless you really want to quit it seems hopeless. But what if there was something that could actually affect your emotions to give you a desire to quit, those same emotions that drive you to pick up that pack again, and again. May we suggest essential oils.

Upon inhalation of essential oils the tiny molecules travel to the brain via the olfactory nerve tracks, reaching the limbic system of the brain (which controls memories and emotions).  At this point the limbic system is triggered releasing neurochemicals (brain affecting chemicals) such as seratonin which calms and relaxes.

When essential oils are incorporated in a massage/body oil or hand/body lotion they penetrate the skin, enter the blood stream and reach all vital organs.  Properties found in essential oils include:  antiviral, antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal and many more.  When used on the body, (especially in the bath) essential oils may also prevent flu and colds often associated with quitting smoking when the body’s immune system is compromised.  Many people also use essential oils to help detoxify the body.
